Touring Season 2011

Want to call Europe “home” for a summer? Aching for a chance to live like a local and experience the language and culture of another country? Gaining a much sought-after position of a Contiki Site Representative at one of our European Sites/Stopovers is one way of doing just that!

We are looking for people who are not afraid of physically demanding work, are full of enthusiasm and love dealing with people, to fill a number of positions which are available for our Summer season. You’ll be based at one of our special sites in either France, Austria, Spain, Switzerland, Italy or Greece, together with other team members and be responsible for looking after our clients during their stay. Positions vary from site to site, but include cooks, assistant cooks, bartenders, housekeeping assistants and grounds/maintenance staff.

In order to be considered for a position with us, you’ll need to meet the following criteria:

• Possess a current UK or European Passport (please do include a scan copy of your passport with your CV/Cover letter application; integrated into one single document)
• Have excellent people skills with proven experience in a customer service role or hospitality background.
• Ability to interact on professional and social levels with our clients
• Have the ability to deal with and work under pressure
• Able to adapt to long working hours (split shifts)
• Must be team orientated
• Be adaptable and flexible
• Be enthusiastic and have loads of energy!
• Be available for an interview in London during Jan & Feb 2011

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Recruitment Process

There are 5 steps for our recruitment process:

1. Send in your completed application
2. You will be contacted via email and invited to attend a group interview where you will give a 5 minute presentation.
3. You will be invited to attend a personal interview; usually on the same day.
4. If successful, you will be offered a place on our two week Training Trip, which starts in late February 2011.
5. If you successfully complete our Training Trip, you will receive your summer placement and become, a Contiki Site Representative at one of our European Sites or Stopovers.

Positions will ONLY be given to those who successfully complete the Training Trip.

GROUP INTERVIEWS

Group interviews will take place in LONDON during January 2011 and early February 2011. In each group interview there will be up to 15 people and you will need to allow at least half a day for this. During the interview, you will learn more about Contiki, the role of a Site Representative and the specifics of each position available. You will also be asked to give a 5-minute presentation which you will have prepared in advance.

PERSONAL INTERVIEWS

This follows the same format of most interviews, where you will be asked a series of questions by Contiki staff members. This is your opportunity to give us an insight into the type of person you are and why you think that you are the best person for the job.

WHAT DO I NEED TO WEAR TO MY INTERVIEW?

Just remember that first impressions count and that we are looking for people who take pride in their presentation. You will, after all, be potentially representing our company, handling our food, and dealing with our clients face-to-face!
